Durham Mayor Elaine O’Neal is thanking the Durham Fire Department for coming to her rescue Wednesday morning. O’Neal said firefighters rescued her after she got stuck in one of the City Hall elevators. “What a morning,” the mayor said in a tweet. She expressed her gratitude for the firefighters’ quick response and their help in getting her back to handling city business. In another tweet, Mayor O’Neal showed her appreciation for a member of Durham’s One Call Team and a Durham police officer. She said they gave additional support and sprung into action when she was stuck in the elevator. According to the City’s website, their One Call Team serves as a hub for information about City programs and services. It also serves as a way for the community to submit non-emergency issues.
