Burlington: A piece of clothing started a fire after it was taken out of the dryer

A piece of clothing has caused a fire at a home on Tuesday morning on Herman Blue Court, Burlington. Firefighters said this happened after someone took their clothes out of the dryer and left them in the bedroom as they went to work. The clothes were so hot they began to smolder and a fire erupted. Clothes and furniture caught on fire, leaving a damage of $30,000 behind. Firefighters quickly put out the fire. They said the jacket in the dryer just wasn't meant for high heat. "It's really important to follow care directions on clothes. Don't put things in the dryer not recommended for there clean out your lint filter, said Battalion Chief Daniel Shoffner.
