Traphill Fire Department's 50th anniversary to be observed

Traphill Fire Department’s 50th anniversary will be celebrated Saturday at the fire station on Traphill Road. The event begins at 2 p.m. with recognition of people who have served as firefighters through the years. It will follow with an open house and live music from Crabgrass and Double Creek Bluegrass. There will be 50th anniversary shirts for sale while supplies last. Ground was broken for the fire station on Oct. 7, 1972. Aldean Wiles was the first chief.
