It took 30 firefighters to put out an east Charlotte house fire on Saturday. According to a tweet, the Charlotte Fire Department received a call about a working structure fire around 1:19 p.m. on Saturday afternoon along Running Lane Road off of Gaynelle Drive. Responding firefighters went to the scene where smoke was showing from the two-story home. In a follow-up tweet from the department, the fire was under control within 10 minutes. The resident of the home is being evaluated by Mecklenburg Emergency Medical Services. The fire is under investigation and the cause is unclear.
