PHOTOS: A married couple lost everything when their historic home in Roseboro in Sampson County was gutted by flames early Sunday, officials said. The fire was reported around 2:30 a.m. at 205 N. West Street in Roseboro, said Roseboro Fire Chief Lee Coleman. When crews arrived at the scene nearly the entire two-story 100+ year-old home was engulfed in flames, he said. Coleman, who lives about two blocks away, said he could see the glow of the fire in the sky from his home after he was awakened to go to the scene. The couple who live in the home were out of town on a fishing trip to the beach. No one was hurt in the fire. But, the couple “lost everything they had” in the fire which took about 90 minutes to get under control, Coleman said.
