VIDEO: The third annual New Hanover County First Responders Kickball Tournament raised over $15,000 for first responders on Saturday. The tournament featured 13 different first responder agencies from around New Hanover County, including law enforcement, firefighters, EMS and 911 telecommunications. Nine different teams played in eight games over the course of the afternoon at Buck Hardee Field in Wilmington. Greg Fix, a member of the Wilmington Fire Department, said the tournament is an event his team always looks forward to. “It’s important for us because we see everybody in the community at the absolute worst. So we love coming out here and having fun with everybody, and seeing the community eat, drink, family fun out here, it’s been great,” he said.
