VIDEO: One West Forsyth High School student is encouraging other young girls to pursue careers in male-dominated fields. Kayleigh Kindlon may only be 15 years old, but she's spent the last two years helping save lives as a volunteer firefighter for Mineral Springs Volunteer Fire Rescue. "It's like a second family to me," Kindlon said. She may only be a high school sophomore, but her future is already looking bright. "It's a lot," she said. "It's hard work, and I like that about it." Not only is Kindlon a full-time high school student, but she also has a part-time job and still manages to help save lives. "A lot of people think it's cool I'm doing it," she said. "And some people don't even believe me at first until I show them my helmet and my gear — and they're like, 'That's interesting — I don't see a lot of females doing that.'"
