A fire that gutted a two-story home early Tuesday morning in New Bern has been ruled unintentional. More than 40 firefighters fought a blaze on Baden Court in Taberna. New Bern Fire-Rescue says they were called out just after 2:30 a.m. and found heavy fire and thick smoke coming out of the two-story home. Two volunteer fire departments assisted the city with firefighting efforts. Today, the fire department said the fire began in the garage, near a golf cart. It took firefighters about two hours to bring the blaze under control and another hour to completely put out the fire.
