Inside a local shop in downtown Valley, an artist is selling a true, "sign of the times".
Angela Davidson was spared from the brunt of the flooding in Valley, but she knows so many others fared much worse. "One of the things that I know how to do is craft and paint," Davidson said.
So, she put her talents to good use, making door décor signs that say Nebraska Strong.
"A couple of people saw the post as I was making them and it kind of went viral from there. And now we're doing so many. We are making them in assembly line fashion."
During the worst of the floods, volunteer firefighters like her son, worked around the clock.
"They spent a lot of man hours, lost equipment and just did a tremendous job helping our community. It made me want to reach out and do something to help."
And the response has been huge.
Davidson has sold nearly 100 Nebraska Strong door signs.
They cost $45, with $25 of the proceeds going to support the Valley and Waterloo Volunteer fire departments.
