The woman who tried to destroy her bar in Arnold, Nebraska, gets probation and is ordered to pay restitution. Fifty-four-year-old Jane Chestnutt was sentenced Thursday in Custer County District Court.
Chestnutt pleaded guilty earlier this year to starting a fire to a bar she was trying to buy in Arnold. Chestnutt was sentenced to 5 years probation for criminal mischief and 5 years for attempted arson. Both sentences will run concurrent.
Judge Karin Noakes told Chestnutt to pay $5,861 to Lee Eastburn, the bar's former owner. Chestnutt was also give 30 hours of community service to a local fire department in the next 30 days. She must also go to counseling and submit to random drug testing and searches.
