Sarpy County has seen its share of horrific accidents this summer and when it comes down to the minutes and seconds to save a life there's no room for error. To help keep first responders ready, the University of Nebraska Medical Center conducted an outdoor simulation day. It was made to look like the aftermath of a tornado. There was an overturned car and several patients scattered across the scene. "Ma'am can you hear me at all?" Gretna Fire and Rescue paramedic Mariah Brown said. "No response." Nearly 50 students attended to learn about rural medicine. "We don't give them a script. We give them the situation and they adapt as they would if this was a real patient," University of Nebraska Medical Center emergency medicine physician Abe Campos said. "How they would get them out if this was real time."
