In light of mass shootings and other tragic events, many organizations have been preparing themselves to help those in need in case something like that happens. One local firefighter is doing his part to help out. "A person can bleed to death in as little as a couple minutes, so we kinda needed to figure out a way to bridge that gap between and the time the paramedics can enter," said Dustin Talacko. Talacko has been putting together "Bleeding Control" kits which consist of various materials to help during an incident involving a serious injury. "The reality is, it's time for us to be prepared for those types of things, and we're dealing with them whether we want to or not," says Jay Elliot, Assistant Principal at Westgate Elementary. Westgate now has a Bleeding Control kit, and have trained staff on how to use it.
