In the midst of clearing off sidewalks, cars, and driveways after a huge snowstorm, Lincoln Fire & Rescue wants to remind you to clean off something you may have forgotten: fire hydrants.
If you look at the image above, there is a 3-foot by 3-foot perimeter to clear away on either side of a fire hydrant.
When it comes to an emergency, every second counts. Help save time for Lincoln’s firefighters and make sure your fire hydrant isn’t buried in snow.
“If the hydrant is clear when we arrive, time is saved and time is property. A fire can double In size every 30 seconds,” LFR said in a tweet.
