Decades of memories went up in smoke Sunday morning as the Poco Creek Golf Course clubhouse, which for decades served as home base for the Aurora Country Club and local VFW chapter, was destroyed in a control burn by members of the Aurora Fire Department. The structure was taken down as part of a transition to a new community clubhouse. The foundation for that structure has already been poured just to the north, where a practice putting green was previously located.
