VIDEO: Kadin Adamek was grinning ear-to-ear as he rode fire truck #30 to school on Friday morning. “I filled out a form, and I won a fire truck ride, and I’m pretty excited about it,” the fourth-grader said. According to his father, Ryan, Kadin has long been a fire truck enthusiast. “He does have several fire trucks even still around the house and even fire truck LEGO sets and about anything you can think of,” he said. Kadin earned the special opportunity after submitting a fire safety questionnaire to Bennet Fire Station as a part of a fire safety education program. “They asked like how much [years] do you need to replace your smoke alarms,” Kadin said. “Fire prevention is a real big deal for us in Bennet and we do a program every year at the school so that the kids are prepared in case they ever had an emergency,” Bennet fire chief Tim Norris said.
