An accident on Highway 30 caused two people to be airlifted by medical helicopter to the hospital and a highway closure for about two hours. Potter Fire Department responded to a call about an accident at 1:28 p.m. on Thursday with 11 firefighters and five pieces of equipment. Public Information Officer Bob Hilpert said a semi-truck hit a car with two passengers right outside of Potter. Hilpert said jaws of life was used to extract the passengers in the car. Both passengers were airlifted to Scottsbluff Hospital with serious injuries. The semi-truck driver was taken to Kimball County Hospital in a personal vehicle. Cheyenne County was the lead on the investigation and Hilpert said the Potter fire department was on scene until 3:45 p.m.
