A home sustained damage following a fire Thursday morning near St. Paul.
According to the St. Paul Volunteer Fire Department, crews were called shortly before 4:15 a.m. to a structure fire on Hardy Road, southeast of St. Paul. The fire department said the structure was fully engulfed, with flames coming through the doors and windows.
Fire crews then fought a defensive attack due to the possibility of the roof collapsing and the large amount of ammunition going off inside.
There were no injuries to residents or firefighters as a result of the fire.
The Nebraska State Fire Marshal was on scene investigating and ruled that the cause of the fire was a heating pad on the couch.
Elba Fire and Rescue, Dannebrog Fire, Boelus Fire and Rescue, Farwell Fire and St. Libory Fire and EMS also responded to the fire.
