VIDEO: The sound of an alarm echoed through Central Nebraska Regional Airport on Tuesday morning as the airport started its disaster drill. Simulated victims lay on the tarmac of the airport waiting for emergency medical professionals to assist them. The drill brought out 20 agencies from the FBI and both the Grand Island Police Department and Grand Island Fire Department. The American Red Cross was also in attendance observing the exercise. CNRA got a chance to use their own fire trucks which Operations and Security Manager Doug Brown said would be a big help if this make-believe scenario became a reality. “Operated by one person inside, so you don’t have five or six firemen to operate it,” Brown said. “One person inside operates all the nozzles and everything from the inside."
