Multiple fire crews respond to fire at Hamilton Township storage facility


VIDEO: A fire erupted Tuesday at a public storage facility in Hamilton Township. Multiple fire departments responded to a fire at a public storage facility in Hamilton. The fire at the Quaker Bridge Road facility destroyed the roof. Officials say the fire began around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday and was first reported as a trash fire. “When we got here, the police department reported it was actually the storage units that were on fire. First arriving companies were met a lot of heavy fire,” says Fire Chief Christopher Tozzi. Tozzi says firefighters were able to get the fire under control rather quickly and put out the flames. No injuries were reported. It was not immediately clear what sparked the fire.

Crews battle large brush fires near NJ Turnpike and Newark Airport in Elizabeth


VIDEO: Crews battled several large brush fires that broke out in Elizabeth, New Jersey, on Tuesday. NewsCopter 7 was over the scene where a large plume of smoke could be seen across the city. The fires burned near the east side of the New Jersey Turnpike and opposite Newark Liberty International Airport. The fire and smoke impacted drivers as they traveled on the turnpike during the heart of the evening commute. Newark Airport said the fire was off airport property and did not impacting any flights. It's not clear yet how the fires started. It comes amid a statewide effort to prevent a repeat of the wildfires that were seen last year in New Jersey.

Fire Rips Through Bedminster Condos, Displaces Multiple Families


PHOTOS: Multiple families are displaced after a fire ripped through a condominium causing extensive damage to five units in Bedminster on Friday. On April 5 at 4:24 p.m., volunteer firefighters from the Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department went to Encampment Drive to find heavy fire involving both the interior and exterior of four units on the C side (rear), said Fire Chief Carson Brienza. "Bulk of the body of fire was knocked quickly after arrival, with water on the fire in under 2 minutes from the first fire engine being on the scene. Fire was marked under control at the 1 hour mark, with overhaul commencing shortly thereafter," said Brienza. As a result, extensive damage was reported in the units directly involved in the fire, but limited to those units.

Kenilworth Fire Department & Rescue Squad Respond to Overturned Vehicles on Parkway


PHOTOS: Friday night, the Kenilworth Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad responded to a report of two overturned vehicles on the Garden State Parkway Northbound. Squad 2, Engine 4, and Rescue 3, were dispatched to the location immediately. Stated from the department on their social media page, "Upon arrival, crews found one of the vehicles to be fully engulfed in flames. Crews from Squad 2 and Engine 4 stretched lines and began fire suppression efforts. The fire was safely and quickly extinguished. Crews from Rescue 3 assessed several patients, none of which required transport to the hospital." There were no injuries reported in this incident.
