The ShopRite supermarket in Fair Lawn was evacuated Sunday afternoon when a fire broke out in the store’s freezer section. The fire was called in at 5:26 p.m. and was quickly extinguished by Fair Lawn firefighters, according to Police Lt. Eric Leitman. He said the fire took place in a freezer area accessible only to staff, and was not on the sales floor of the store at 1717 River Road. An employee who answered the phone at the store said it would remain closed Sunday night and reopen Monday at 7 a.m. No one was injured in the blaze, Leitman said.
