A woman suffered minor injuries when her SUV blasted through the side of a state building on South Stockton Street in Trenton on Wednesday morning, leaving a sizable hole in the glass and metal facade.
Employees who work in the building were evacuated just before noon and many watched as city firefighters assisted a tow truck crew in removing the vehicle. The removal sent shards of glass and metal showering down to the sidewalk below. The cause of the crash was not immediately available. The Trenton Fire Department said the driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and had gotten out of the vehicle before they arrived.
The building at 25 S. Stockton Street is home to an assortment of state offices, and was formerly the headquarters and home to the broadcast studio of New Jersey Network (NJN), who went off the air in 2011. The building is across from Trenton City Hall’s parking lot.
