Some tramps are born to run—others are born to fight fires. According to an Instagram post, Bruce Springsteen’s youngest son Sam has officially joined the ranks of Jersey City firefighters. Springsteen’s wife, Patti Scialfa, posted the announcement on her account Thursday afternoon with the caption “CONGRATULATIONS... You have followed your dreams... JC firefighter... Stay safe.. love your brave heart.”
According to New Jersey News 12, Sam took the civil service exam earlier this year to join the department. He’s also served on several volunteer fire departments throughout New Jersey in recent years before making the leap over to Jersey City.
