A child and an adult were injured in a house fire in Camden County on Wednesday morning, officials said. The two-alarm fire broke out just after 5 a.m. at a two-story home on Walnut Street with the house becoming engulfed in smoke and flames before firefighters brought it under control, Camden County spokesman Dan Keashen said. Both the child and adult were taken to Cooper University Medical Center in Camden to be treated for minor injuries. Other people in the home escaped safely. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Firefighters from several surrounding towns helped Haddonfield firefighters battle the blaze. The county fire marshal is also there assisting.
