Crews fought a three-alarm blaze in one an apartment house Monday that brought fire companies from surrounding towns.
No resident of the apartment house was reported injured. However, three police officers were treated for smoke inhalation at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly and released, said Mount Holly Police Department spokeswoman, Deborah Murillo.
The fire at 101 Broad St. was reported at 1:07 p.m. Monday and declared under control less than an hour later at 1:56 p.m., according to Burlington County Fire Communications. The building is a three-story home converted into apartments in a residential neighborhood at the corner of Broad and Buttonwood streets a few blocks from the downtown business district.
Murillo said the fire started in an upstairs apartment. That apartment suffered the most damage. Mount Laurel and other fire companies responded to the fire call.
