A structure fire that began in a Sea Isle City shed Sunday afternoon engulfed a fuel tank and fishing boat, spreading smoke for miles.
The fire began just after noon at 371 43rd Place, close to Two Chums Bait, Tackle and Boat Rentals, according to a police statement. Firefighters from seven departments responded, evacuating neighboring homes and bringing the blaze under control.
Heat damaged the outside of an adjacent home, police said. Two people were hospitalized for minor injuries.
