A fire broke out in the bedroom of a home in Middletown Saturday morning, the Middletown all-volunteer fire department reported. There was a disabled child who lived in the home, but all occupants safely got out of the burning home before firefighters got there. The fire broke out at 7:44 a.m. in the New Monmouth section of Middletown. The fire occurred in a home on the 100 block of New Monmouth Road. Acting Chief Anthony Citarella reported flames shooting out the front bedroom window of the home. A hose was deployed from the nearest hydrant, which delivered water to scene. Positive pressure ventilation was used to make the interior safer to work in and help expose hot spots. Thermal imaging cameras were employed to ensure all fire was found and extinguished.
