They are ambitious Monmouth County teenagers, trying to make the world a better place. They’re doing it in unconventional fashion. Meet Ciara DiMaiolo and Presley Ferullo, who defy any stereotypes you may have about their generation. DiMaiolo, a junior at Howell High School, has earned the Congressional Award gold medal for completing 400 hours of community service and other initiatives. Much of her service was performed at Robertsville Fire Company in Marlboro, where she continues to volunteer. Ferullo, a sophomore at St. John Vianney High School in Holmdel, raised $1,300 to donate a herd of goats to a family in Kenya and is a candidate for her school’s Christian Service Recognition Award.
