A delivery driver was injured Saturday night when his car went off the road and drove up a guidewire, leaving police and firefighters with an unusual rescue situation, authorities said. The Laurelton Fire Company shared photos Saturday night of the accident on Manor Drive that required the efforts of the Brick Township Technical Rescue team to remove the car from its position against the pole. The accident happened in the area of Western Drive, Brick Police Sgt. James Kelly said Sunday in an email. The driver, who was not identified, was able to get out of the car but fell to the ground and was taken to Ocean Medical Center in Brick for treatment of what were believed to be minor injuries, Kelly said. The accident remains under investigation.
