A longtime Pitman firefighter died early Sunday morning after he crashed his motorcycle in Cape May County.
Jason Fisher, 35, of Pitman was riding a motorcycle on County Road 625 in Dennis Township when he went off the road and hit a guardrail, New Jersey State Police Trooper Alejandro Goez said Monday.
Fisher was pronounced dead at the scene near mile marker 0.6, Goez said.
No other cars were involved and the cause of the crash was still under investigation, he said. Fisher was an 18-year member of the Pitman Fire Company No. 1 and served as a lieutenant, according to a post on the company’s Facebook page.
“Jason dedicated his life to helping others, his family, and friends,” the post stated. “There are countless people who Jason has helped over the years and many that are still here today because of his unselfish dedication.”
He was an also employee of Gloucester County EMS and was a part-time employee of Cooper EMS in Camden County.
