A fire caused heavy damage to the attached garage at a home on Bennington Drive Thursday morning. Mansfield Fire Department Assistant Chief Jim Bishop said the owners of the property, Gary and Cindy Jakubick, were not injured. Bishop said the fire extended into the residence slightly. Gary Jakubick had just finished using the snow blower to clear the walkway, and had put it away and was coming back outside to walk his grand dog. Bishop said Jakubick acted quickly upon seeing the fire and got the two vehicles out of the garage. Bishop said cause of the fire remains under investigation.
