No one hurt when bus catches fire on I-78 in Union County during morning rush

VIDEO: No one was hurt when a tire blew out on commuter bus and caused it to catch fire on Interstate 78 in Union County on Wednesday morning. The approximately 10 to 15 passengers safely exited the Trans-Bridge Lines bus and were picked up by a replacement bus after it burst into flames near milepost 50.8 in Union just before 7 a..m, State Police said. The express lanes and a portion of the local lanes were closed while the fire was extinguished. The fire jammed traffic for several miles. All lanes were back open by 8:24 a.m, Sgt. Jeff Flynn said. Traffic remains slow through the area as of 9 a.m, according to SigAlert.com. Trans-Bridge operates commuter buses from the Lehigh Valley and Hunterdon and Warren counties to the Port Authority, Newark Liberty International Airport and Lower Manhattan.
