Five residents of a two-family home on Lawrie Street have been temporarily displaced by an early Thursday morning fire.
Fire Chief Edward Mullen said the city and Red Cross were working to relocate the residents, two who suffered smoke inhalation, were treated at a hospital and released. No injuries to firefighters were reported.
At about 5:19 a.m. firefighters were dispatched to 362 Lawrie St. for a report of a house fire, Mullen said.
Arriving firefighters encountered heavy fire on the first floor and all five occupants, two on the first-floor and three on the second floor, had safely escaped, he said.
