Summit Fire Department Quickly Extinguishes Fire Involving Multiple Vehicles in Overlook Parking Structure

It took just 27 minutes for the City of Summit Fire Department (SFD) to control a late-morning fire involving multiple vehicles in the Overlook Medical Center parking structure. Crews responded to a report of a vehicle fire in the west parking garage at Overlook Medical Center, located at 58 Beauvoir Avenue, on Tuesday, November 30 at 11:21 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found a fully involved vehicle fire on level four of the garage. The fire extended to two cars on either side of the burning car. The SFD was able to effectively knock down the fire and contain it to the three vehicles. The fire was declared under control at 11:48 a.m. No injuries to residents or responding firefighters were reported. The Summit Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Summit Police Department and the Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad.
