Cranford House Fire Sends Firefighter to Hospital

The Cranford Fire/EMS and Police Departments responded to a residential house fire Tuesday morning on the lower block of Lenhome Drive. According to the Cranford Fire Department, units were dispatched around 9:47 a.m. and arrived in about four minutes, finding heavy smoke conditions with an active fire in a single-family home upon arrival. The incident escalated to three alarms, bringing in fire response and emergency medical services resources from surrounding communities via the County Mutual Aid Plan, officals said. Additional Mutual Aid resources were staged at Fire Headquarters to cover the Township during the incident, according to the CFD. Two residents who were home at the time of the fire were able to escape and treated on scene for smoke inhalation.
