According to the Cranford Fire Department, units were dispatched around 9:47 a.m. and arrived in about four minutes, finding heavy smoke conditions with an active fire in a single-family home upon arrival. The incident escalated to three alarms, bringing in fire response and emergency medical services resources from surrounding communities via the County Mutual Aid Plan, officals said.
