A recycling truck from B&B Disposal which collects in Hawthorne collided with a tree off of Goffle Hill Road Tuesday morning. The collision took place at 429 Goffle Hill Road, near Fairview and Grandview Avenues. The immediate cause of the incident was unclear, likewise the condition of the driver. The Hawthorne Police and Fire Department responded to the incident, with the latter addressing a fluid spill from the vehicle. A tow truck was dispatched and extracted the truck, whose front end was smashed. The Department of Public Works said that most of the recycling in the area had already been collected, but on Wednesday two trucks would be deployed to complete the unfinished route and the Wednesday pick-up.
