Residents were able to escape a fire that sparked in the back of a Montgomery home on Tuesday night.
At around 7:30 p.m., a home at 10 Regents Court in the Belle Mead section of the township reported a grill fire with exposure to the home, said police.
Police found the home actively burning, with smoke from the fire visible from Route 206, said police.
Everyone inside was safely evacuated from the home.
Montgomery Fire Stations 45 and 46, Montgomery Rescue Squad, as well as multiple fire stations from surrounding jurisdictions to include Hillsborough, Rocky Hill, and Hopewell responded to the scene and safely extinguished the fire. Damage from the fire was limited to the home where the fire originated, with minimal heat damage to a neighboring home, said police.
No injuries were reported.
