A host of Woodbridge police officers and firefighters are among 134 regional first-responders honored today by the 200 Club of Middlesex County for their bravery and devotion to duty. During a ceremony at the Carteret Performing Arts Center, the 200 Club of Middlesex County will honor 16 Woodbridge officers for their heroism in 2020, and recognize Iselin Fire Department’s chief and two firefighters for their life-saving efforts during Tropical Storm Ida on Sept. 1, 2021. Sayreville Police Chief John Zebrowski, president of the New Jersey State Chiefs of Police Association (NJSACOP) is the guest of honor and keynote speaker at today’s event. Prominently honored will be Iselin Fire District 11 Chief Ryan Malheiro, a 12-year department veteran, who dived into raging floodwaters on Carson Drive to rescue and resuscitate an unconscious 4-year-old girl.
