A serial arsonist accused of setting 28 forest fires between May 2021 and January 2022 pleaded guilty on Friday to three counts of aggravated arson in a deal that calls for a recommendation he be sentenced to 12 years in prison, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said.
Gregory Fullman Jr., 33, of Manchester, will also be responsible for paying restitution for the firefighting efforts to control the blazes, which included a Bass River State Forest fire in May 2021 that consumed 617 acres.
Fullman was arrested Jan. 31, 2022 after a months-long investigation that included surveillance camera footage and the use of a tracking device that police placed on his vehicle, according to court documents.
