Curry County and the Broadview Fire Department have received notice from the Insurance Service Office that the Broadview Fire Department has improved its rating from an ISO Public Protection Class 9 to a Public Protection Class 8B. County Manager Lance Pyle congratulates Broadview Fire Chief Michael Booth and the members of the department for their service and hard work on improving the rating. The improved rating can translate into lower insurance premiums, depending on the insurance company for some property owners within the Broadview Fire Protection District. This improved rating will also increase the State Fire Fund allotment to the Broadview Fire Department by approximately $7,800 per year. The fire funds are used for anything from utility payments, to training, to fire truck purchases.
