Los Alamos County firefighters set out on a track Saturday on Pajarito Mountain to remember and honor those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on American soil. They are carrying a 26-pound air pack in full dress on the one mile trek with a 1,000 foot rise in elevation to mimic the stairs the firefighters experienced on that tragic day rushing to rescue people in the World Trade Center in New York City. Members of the public joined firefighters in the somber event.
