As of Wednesday evening, there are two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Rio Arriba County.
A woman in her 70s tested positive for the virus, as did a man in his 60s.
Nora Meyers-Sackett, press secretary for New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, wrote in a Wednesday email that the woman contracted the virus through travel and that the man “has no known contact and is under investigation.”
One of the patients has been hospitalized at Española Hospital, Presbyterian Communications Manager Amanda Schoenberg wrote in a Wednesday text message. Schoenberg was not able to provide further details, however.
Sackett was not able to provide information about which patient was hospitalized or when the patients were tested for the virus.
