In support of Autism Awareness Month this April, the Reno Fire Department (RFD), Sparks Fire Department (SFD), and Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPD) have partnered to wear custom uniform "JUSTin Hopes" shirts while on duty. The proceeds of the sale of the shirts support the JUSTin Hope Foundation, which helps families who have kids affected by autism or other Nuero-developmental disabilities.
Reno City Council is expected to wear the RFD JUSTin Hope shirts tomorrow, April 10, 2019, during their regular Reno City Council meeting.
Art Reitz will speak on behalf of RFD during Public Comment to update Council and the public on what JUSTin Hope is doing in the community.
Reitz will also discuss several upcoming community events, including the 7th Annual Spring Forward for Autism 5K Run/Walk that will take place on Saturday, April 28 at the University of Nevada, Reno.
