VIDEO: A man is dead after a fire at a vacant building just east of the Las Vegas Strip Tuesday morning. Las Vegas Fire & Rescue said the fire happened around 4 a.m. at 2019 Paradise Road near Las Vegas Boulevard and St. Louis Avenue Dec. 2. Witnesses reported seeing smoke coming from a vacant building in the area, according to LVFR spokesman Tim Szymanski said. Szymanksi said it took firefighters about 10 minutes to get the fire under control. Szymanski said the door to the building was chained and firefighters had to cut the chains to get inside. When firefighters entered the building, a man was found dead by the door. It wasn't immediately clear if the person was living in the building, according to Szymanksi.
