The Carson City Fire Department has released more details on a structure fire they responded to on Tuesday afternoon. They said it happened at the St. Charles Residential Hotel on South Carson Street around 12:16 p.m. When they arrived, firefighters saw smoke coming from the second floor of the hotel. Crews entered the apartment and located an unconscious dog. They said the fire had been extinguished by a working fire sprinkler. The dog was revived and taken to a local veterinary hospital. Carson City Fire says the damage to the hotel is estimated to be $10,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
