VIDEO: The Clark County Fire Department worked to extinguish a fire Friday at the Church LV, which is located at E. Sunset and S. Sandhill roads.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, they saw light smoke coming from the roof, but within 7-8 minutes, the east side of the building went up in flames. CCFD said construction workers were renovating the old, K-Mart unoccupied building when the fire started.
The construction workers said they didn't see the fire when it starts, but when they noticed it, they said it spread quickly, so they evacuated the building.
CCFD said its firefighters were very fortunate that there were light winds Friday because if they had been any higher, the fire would have spread even more.
CCFD investigators are working to determine the cause.
