On Monday, February 10th Reno City Council held a special meeting to address various topics on public safety management.
Among the topics was a possible change to how local emergency dispatch operates. In the next month, a new computer-aided dispatch system known as "CAD" will be integrated to help emergency agencies. "We hope to see a product that would allow us to share information," says Adam Heinz, executive director for integrated health at REMSA. "With the City of Reno being up on the hill at Parr at Spectrum and REMSA being down on Edison, we hope to be able to share electronic information in the next month or so."
The CAD system will make it easier for agencies to communicate and dispatch services based on the type of emergency.
