The new fire engine arrived Thursday, February 13 at the Boulder City Fire Department. The engine is in need of some additional items; it was sent to a vendor in Las Vegas to have the radios and other electronics installed. Later this month, it will go to the City shops for a few more needed installations. The final step will be the firefighters installing the required tool brackets for all of the equipment carried on the fire engine. "Our hope is to have it in service and responding to calls within three weeks," said Chief William Gray. The total cost of the project was set at $750,000, an expense approved by voters in 2018. The engine cost just under $700,000.00 and the required radios, hose, and equipment added another $50,000.00.
