Another 138 Nevadans have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the statewide total of known infections to 8,826 people according to new numbers posted to the Nevada Health Alliance dashboard.
The 138 new cases came from 6,219 people tested on June 1, making for a growth rate of 1.6 percent.
The statewide number of deaths actually went down, according to the dashboard. On Monday, there were a reported 421 deaths and on Tuesday that number was revised to 420.
That is likely due to one of the people who died in Nevada actually being from out of state, causing a reduction in the number, according to the NHA’s notes included in the dashboard.
Hospitalization data has not yet been updated as of Tuesday morning, but on Monday there was an uptick in the number of confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients hospitalized.
