PHOTOS: Police respond to a car crash turned fire early Tuesday morning near the Vagabond Inn, causing fallen powerlines and power outages. South Virginia St. is closed in both directions near Moana Lane and Gentry Way while NV Energy works to repair fallen power lines knocked over by a car crash. The crash happened just before 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. Police say a Mercedes was heading south when it hit an SUV turning into the parking lot. The Mercedes hit a powerline causing the SUV to rollover and ignite. The crash also caused a power surge in the Vagabond Inn lobby, but minimal damage was reported there. Two people inside the SUV that caught fire were transported to the hospital. The four people inside the Mercedes fled the scene. They were described as males wearing dark clothes. Authorities do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor, but believe speed was.
