Reno firefighters knocked down a house fire in northeast Reno Sunday afternoon. The fire was reported around 2:50 p.m. in the area of Montello St. and Hillboro Avenue. The Reno Fire Departement says first responders noticed flames coming out of the window of the home. The fire was quickly knocked down and contained to the structure. Unfortunately, a cat was found deceased inside the home. The homeowners were not home at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
